Warmer Weather Means Allergy Season
Doctors say flowers are going to start blooming outside like they are here in the greenhouse in South Bend.
And that's going to create a lot of health problems for Michiana residents.
They say if allergies aren't treated they can lead to sinus and ear infections.
So we asked a local doctor how you can prepare for allergy season.
Dr. Rita Cortese at Quality Care Pediatrics says, "The number one rule of allergies to help is not medications, it's prevention. Basically avoid what hurts you. If you you know when you walk across freshly cut grass, you start having allergy symptoms avoid that. When you go on a drive don't open the windows because all that pollen comes inside."
Dr. Cortese says if you have severe allergies, you need to start taking preventative medicine now.
Products like nasal spray can start working now to help you throughout the season.
