Health Alert: Relief from Allergies
lot of folks are sneezing these days and you can blame it on allergies.
Doctor’s offices around the valley are packed with allergy sufferers looking for relief. The season is just getting underway with high levels of mold, ash, grass, weeds and pine.
Dr. Baz says if you think allergy shots sound tempting, they wont help right away. He also says, “Right now the immediate treatment is to treat them with medication, make sure their symptoms are better, and control their asthma. Long-term treatment will be for next year or for next fall. It's a misconception that allergy shots will help.”
Other tips to help control allergies:
- Beat the clock - Most pollen production happens between 5:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
- Clear the air - Keep windows rolled up while driving and set the air conditioner on re-circulate rather than bringing in the outdoor air.
- Wash wisely - Shower and wash every night and don't line-dry your clothes outside.
